abnormal vision simulation
CYCLOPIA is a gamified application built on the Oculus Rift that structures mechanics around simulations of 6 abnormal vision conditions:
Diplopia, Oscillopsia, Color Blindness, Migraine Aura, Optic Neuritis and Tunnel Vision.
CYCLOPIA let users experience these conditions in two different ways:
play driving/running games with abnormal vision simulation in a gamified way
see and experience acutal world with real-time webcam input with Oculus Rift in a realistic way
The application encourages users to empathize with patients with vision problem and feel more compassion towards them.

WHAT I DID :
Designed interaction concepts and ‘big picture’ structure of project:
Design goals, flow of VR and AR experience,
Designed events and hazards for driving and running game
Designed level / game environment for both driving and running game
Conducted user tests with medical school students
Maintain the team's vision, follow the client's requirements and manage the production schedule
PROJECT TEAM :
I worked as a part of six developers from different disciplines to create this game for Associate Professor and neurologist Erle Lim of the National Univserity of Singapore.
We created the application over the course of 16 weeks
with the goal of enabling medical and healthcare students to experience the world from the perspective of patients with abnormal vision conditions.
